I played paintball at Skirmish in Pennsylviania for the very first time a week ago. It was awesome!!! We drove from Manhattan to Pennsylvania over the weekend, about a 2 hour drive. We arrived at Skirmish in Jim Thorpe, PA about 9:30 in the morning.

For the next 30 minutes we were getting prepped and waiting for other players to arrive. Skirmish has a pretty good deal for paintball. For about $70, you get camo overall, gun, 750 paintballs, mask/goggles, and all day play.
The Skirmish site was huge with different areas for different scenarios, see map below.

The group was gathered for safety instructions by the referees around 10:30. We started with about 20-30 people, later on as more people joined in, there were about 50 people on the field. The refs were strict about goggles, which they should be for safety of the players.

We started the first game at Tippman City, which had multiple buildings that simulate a urban area, and played a few games of capture the flag, then elimination.  We then went to several different areas for different scenarios. One of the scenarios was at Tippman Castle which was two stories high. The group was divided into red and yellow team. We had to capture the flag and carry it safely out the castle without getting killed. Neither of the teams were very good at the task, since there were too much gunfire (or paintballs). Our last game was in a large open forest, where the two teams had to eliminate each other. The last team standing wins.

This was an awesome experience, and Skirmish really ran their fields and games really well. It was safe, organized, and fun. We played a total of 7-8 games for the whole day.  They also have several large scenario events each year. The picture above is from Invasion of Normandy which usually have thousands of attendees each year.

I hope one day I'll get the chance to play in one of these big scenario games.
